Running the London Marathon is a very rewarding experience, but even more so when you use your miles to raise money to support local hospice patients. Run for Good!

Story

Thank you for supporting my fundraising effort for St David's Hospice Care. I have always been interested in fitness but usually stick to the gym.  Last October I went to support my Mum and her friend Anna run the London Marathon; it was a hugely inspiring day and seeing so many runners of all abilities complete the course made me want to take part too.

I was lucky enough to get a place running for St David's Hospice; this charity has close personal connections to us as a family as they cared for a close family member through out her breast cancer diagnosis and were truly amazing in the terminal phase of her illness, enabling her to be cared for at home. St David's also looked after other friends relatives and our neighbours.

I have embarked on a training programme as a new runner and am looking forward to the challenge, switching my usual gym sessions for the trails. I am enjoying the change, and look forward to a different sort of fitness!

Hospice care offers reassurance of round-the-clock expert care, in a friendly, welcoming environment for those who are living through a life limiting illness. From managing someone's pain, to looking after their emotional, spiritual and social needs, hospice care supports the whole person, helping them to live their life to the full.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for any support you can offer this fantastic charity.
