LISSENDEN GARDENS MURALS
NHS Thanks, Street Art, Mental Health and Love in the time of CORONA
Inspired by the selfless work of the NHS workers during the COVID-19 crisis, the neighbours of Lissenden Gardens in North London teamed up with local street artists to thank passing NHS workers en route to the Royal Free Hospital. The artists have given their time for free and the neighbours have chipped in for the materials to paint the shutters at Kwik Fit.
We are now raising funds for The Listening Place to provide emotional support to NHS workers traumatised by COVID-19 and the wider population experiencing suicidal feelings. Can you help with a donation?
THE LISTENING PLACE (TLP)
The world can feel like a very lonely place if you are feeling that life is no longer worth living: not only is it difficult to share those feelings but it can be hard to get the care and support that will make a difference. The Listening Place offers a warm and welcoming environment; somewhere that individuals can talk openly about their feelings without being judged or being given advice.
The Listening Place will continue to support suicidal individuals over the telephone throughout the Covid-19 crisis. A donation will ensure that suicidal individuals and traumatised CARERS & NHS WORKERS receive ongoing, free and confidential support throughout the pandemic. It costs us £250 to support someone for five months, which is the average time it takes for us to significantly reduce an individual's suicide risk.
THE ARTISTS
Janey www.pixie.london Lives on Lissenden Gardens and made an early start with her THANKYOU rainbow, pizza delivery lion, NHS monkeys, Teacher Owl and Graffiti tiger to lift the spirits and use up paint from a commission cancelled due to COVID-19. Our message from the "Corona Bears" popping up round the world and dressing up in Lissenden is that Key Workers should never walk alone!

Ben www.instagram.com/normallyben joined the party with a direct THANKS to the NHS KEYWORKERS.
TLP volunteer and neighbour Guy had a go at painting the loo roll banner but was better suited to providing coffee, cheese sandwiches and setting up this campaign!
There is still one smaller shutter left to paint and we are open to offers!
THE APPEAL
TLP will support over 2000 suicidal people in the coming months and we will now be offering emotional support to over 300 NHS and frontline Care Workers a week during the crisis. Any donation you can make, however small, will make a difference.
