24 Peaks Challenge · 31 May 2014

NASSA is about more than just basketball. We are interested in developing the whole person. We know that we can make a difference to every child that comes through our doors. We want the young people to develop a respect for themselves and others.

Story

Having completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in record time* last year we have decided to attempt something a little more difficult for 2014, the 24 Peaks Challenge!

The 24 Peaks Challenge is to climb the 24 highest peaks in the Lake District in less than 24 hours of walking. This is a total hike of 31 miles and a total ascent of 4,000m split over two days.

I suspect we may not all return intact so please help us raise money for a good cause so our sacrifice will not have been for nothing.

We have chosen to support one of Tate and Lyle Sugars’ community partners Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA). We have personally seen the good work that NASSA do and we are keen to support them, so please give if you can. All the money we raise will be matched by Tate and Lyle Sugars.

About NASSA:

“At NASSA we believe that every child is special and can ‘speak the language of sport’. We want to make good players – but our number one goal is to make good people! Our purpose is for all young people to have the opportunity to participate in, enjoy and learn through sport

Who Are we?

Newham All Star Sports Academy NASSA has been set up for young people in Newham and the surrounding areas.

We provide after school training clubs, a Saturday Academy, High Flyers Developmental Programme, volunteer programme, opportunities to achieve accreditation and NVQs, opportunities to gain coaching qualifications, Summer Scheme, holiday clubs and outreach work in local parks and cages.

Our goals are to build successful young adults and provide a real alternative to engaging in anti social behaviour, through creating awareness and understanding of the opportunities that exist in their lives. NASSA provides consistent motivation to encourage young people to stay focused and to pursue those opportunities with passion.

NASSA is a not for profit, independent organisation that exists to improve the chances and career choices of young people in Newham and the surrounding areas.”
