Story
In 2013 five of us ran the London South Tough Mudder. In 2022, just four of us are doing it again.
Earlier this year our friend Tom took his own life. He was a wonderful man who spoke openly about his mental health struggles and regularly offered support to friends or colleagues who had been suffering themselves. He was brilliant. Fiercely intelligent both academically and emotionally, with the sharpest sense of humour and a capacity to be very, very silly. We miss him terribly and wish he was running with us (although when we'd floated the idea about doing it again previously he thought we were all mad).
Tom was an advocate for many mental health charities and had supported CALM in the past so we thought we'd raise a bit of money for an organisation that are consistently doing fantastic work. More info on CALM below...

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably. From advice on our site, through to free, confidential chats with our helpline staff, online or on the phone, we’re here for whoever needs us, every day. No matter what. £8 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
