Story

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah,

Adil, Adnan, Basit, Haleem, Hasan, Nader, Shah and Siraj. These are the names of the brothers in our group, each one of whom has stepped forward to challenge themselves to cycle across London to raise money for Yemen.

A round trip on Saturday 8th August, from Thurrock in the east to Regents Park Mosque in the northwest. The route planned will require us to pass various London landmarks including East London Mosque, Tower of London, London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch and Regents Park Mosque, taking photos with the landmarks along the way.

At just over 75km in total, this is not a small feat! All this to aid our brothers and sisters in Yemen who desperately need our help. Please donate generously, this is a big commitment from our dedicated brothers for a worthy cause, we invite you to join in the reward!

What is the situation in Yemen?

It has become a place riddled with air strikes and heavy artillery. And the result: millions of people needing help securing food and protection.

It is a sad realisation that the political and power struggle of a few is destroying the lives of many. And the result: about 80% of the population (24 million people) need humanitarian assistance.

Political and militia groups continuously locked in warfare. And the result: an estimated 2 million children acutely malnourished, including almost 360,000 children under five years old who are struggling to survive. It is clear the actions in Yemen are having a devastating reaction to its people and children.

Notice all of these actions are having the worst reactions. That’s why we’re asking for your action to help donate as much as you can with the hope that it brings a positive, life changing reaction to those in need of it most.

Those fortunate enough to be parents are blessed with an indescribable feeling when they hold their children. And it is only because of projects and initiatives such as this, when we come together to fight for a good cause, we can hope that love, life and happiness can be reintroduced to the parents and children of Yemen.

Let’s do something meaningful. Your donation, however large or small, will be life-changing.
