At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, any donation however small will be greatly appreciated. We would be delighted if with your help we could smash our target and make a real difference.

Earlier this year Luke, Julian and I, all hard-working Property Managers at TMS, had a lightbulb moment - we realised we would never be as young as this again! We decided to undertake a physical challenge (by way of a change from our daily mental challenges), something that we could train for, and that would be rewarding whilst raising lots of spondoolies for charity.

For our sins, we will be taking part in The Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge on Sunday, 18 October 2009 at Longmoor Camp, Hampshire. We must be mad, which confirms after all these years that "we are not wired up right"!!! The challenge involves a 10km run, 25km of mountain biking and 1.5km of kayaking with lots of surprises in between. Full details of the event can be found on - http://www.trailplus.com/helly_hansen.cfm

CLIC Sargent helps children and young people with cancer and their families with the trauma of dianosis, the often long journey through treatment... and continues to support them afterwards.

As the children's cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is there... with clinical, practical and emotional support, every step of the way.

-£20 helps buy several blood sample kits that CLIC Sargent Nurses can use on a home visit, saving a family making a round trip to hospital for a simple blood test.

-£50 means that a CLIC Sargent Social Worker can be there soon after diagnosis, talking to a family one-to-one. Every family is different, so we assess their individual needs and tailor our services to suit them.

-£100 means a young person who has (or had) cancer or leukaemia can go on an activity weekend. After months in hospital it helps them restore self-confidence, regain indepandence and rebuild a social life.

If you would like to see what your donation could provide for these children then please visit the website- http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home

By hook or crook we will complete the challenge, so please help us, help them, every penny counts.
