We help veterans and their families to live the life they deserve after service

Story

This is Corporal Josh Boggi, who lost three limbs in Afghanistan on New Years Eve 2010 after stepping on an IED. I met him on a Help For Heroes cycle ride from Paris to London in 2013, raising money himself for wounded troops in need.

I am doing another one this year from Ypres to Verdun, tracing the First World War's front line for 350 miles over five days from June 5-11. So is Josh - and without doubt he'll beat me over the finishing line every night again.

Please may I ask for your incredibly kind generosity to give whatever you can to sponsor me again? Not just to ease my humiliation, but because the reality is these guys' need has never been greater.

A King's College London study earlier this year revealed Josh is one of 83,000 former servicemen and women who are still suffering from their physical or mental injuries from the modern wars of the last 25 years. Most of those injuries are life changing. The state is incapable of meeting all their health, housing and rehabilitation needs. But as these wars are now over, you seldom see their pictures on TV and so donations to military charities are drying up.

Thank you so much for whatever you can do - it really makes a huge and immediate difference to these people's lives.
