One day, late in the evening, Noel came up with a brilliant idea.  "175km!" he said.  "You see what I've done? 175 years....175km...Marden, Wiltshire to Marden House!  It all fits!"

"Noel, you're a genius!" I replied.  "Sign me up along with the hundreds of others that will surely come." With visions of a Woldinghamy peloton cruising through the British countryside, dear sponsors, I said yes.
