The charitable objects of The TVCT are the promotion of conversation in order to protect the natural environment through the following; the relief of poverty and enhancement of security of parks, conservancies and untouched parts of Kenya. We truly believe that the key to combatting the ever increasing pressure on the land is through education, family planning and providing basic healthcare services. In turn this will help to improve the quality of life for those living in more remote areas, and encourage them to live a more sustainable lifestyle. There is no single solution to these challenges and so The TVCT supports a wide range of projects in order to make a difference. Each varying project is building block to the preservation of Kenya’s last remaining ecosystems, shared & adored by so many.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This weekend I will be running the 'Marathon de Jack' - a full length marathon along the muddy trails of Hampshire, designed and organised by my friend Harry 'Kipchoge' Jack. Last year we managed to complete 50km (slightly longer than a marathon) but as our age starts to affect our knees and other body parts, it's been reconditioned to 'only' a marathon this year.

Last time we used this event to raise money for Ukraine, as it was just after the brutal Russian invasion. Whilst the plight of the Ukrainians still remains a central concern today, its knock on effects are wide ranging. Africa, for instance, has been hurt by higher food costs which puts an enormous strain on impoverished communities. Therefore, I am looking to raise money for a charity very close to my heart; The Tristan Voorspuy Conservation Trust (TVCT).

The TVCT was set up after the the tragic death of my uncle Tristan Voorspuy in 2017. He was a safari guide and conservationist in Kenya. The trust donates money to a wide range of already established charities that together aim to help animals and humans coexist in Africa to preserve the threatened ecosystems and reduce the current pressure on the land. These pressures have become more prominent in the past year due to the shortage and cost of food supplies.

Any donation, large or small, would be hugely welcome.
