I have been diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy and felt I needed to raise funds. · 15 May 2012

Family Fund believes that all families raising disabled and seriously ill children should have the same opportunities as others. With our grants and services we aim to help break down many of the barriers these families face, improving their quality of life and easing the additional daily pressures.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Todd and i'm a newly diagnosed neuropathy sufferer.  I have been in and out of hospital since I was 1 year old having been plastered due to not being able to walk properly.  Since then I have been to see paediatric consultants orthopaedics consultants and many other doctors only to find out last year I have an incurable disease under the umbrella of Peripheral Neuropathy.  This has, for a few years, affected my ability to feel my feet and bottom part of my legs.  For the last year or so I have fallen over many times leading to me having injured myself.  I currently use a wheel chair for school as I become weak and had an accident just after Christmas injuring my knee.  I use a stick at the moment just to steady myself.  I am being fitted with a jacket to help slow down the process of deterioration in my spine called Scoliosis.

I have already raised money for the Neuropathy Trust and plan to do many more fund raising activities, but due to my age I am unable to do this task.  (I will later on in life).

The family Fund is the largest provider of grants to low-income families raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people. They help ease the additional pressures families face.  They can help with essential items such as washing machines, fridges and clothing but can also consider grants for sensory toys, computers and much needed family breaks together.

So every donation helps.
