Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

I met Flowers during fresher's week at Collingwood in 2008, we had three years together at uni - she was a good friend, beautiful girl, super intelligent, kind, full of hope and I miss her.

The stories that were told at her funeral - of her faith, her humour, her talent and her friendship to LOADS of people just highlighted the Flowers that I knew. She was an actual hero. It's not OK that she died so young.

I wanted to set myself a challenge in memory of Flowers, raising some money for the Brain Tumour Charity in the process. Cycling from my current home, Durham, to where I was brought up, Southport (and back, if I make it!) seemed like a reasonable challenge.

Cycling over the weekend of the 9th and 10th of August.

Give me a sponsor both in memory of Naomi and so our legs get us there (I'll be riding with my friend Ant).
