Hello guys.
As I have mentioned to many of you I am walking from Lands End to John O'Groats. These are the two points on mainland UK that are furthest from eachother! 603 miles as the crow flies and 870 miles along roads. However, as a recent trip away has told me - walking on roads is arduous and unfun even in the grandest of conditions! Sooooo I am choosing to go along long distance paths where I can which is going to end up around 1200 miles ( I shall give a more specific number when I've figured it out).
Needless to say there's gonna be some blisters, chafing and possibly even a little trench foot... But on a serious note I thought I'd undertake this task for those less fortunate than myself and experience real hardship and raise some money for St Richards Hospice. In their words, this is what they do:
"St Richard’s Hospice cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year we give free care and support to around 2,100 patients and family members – helping them towards the best quality of life possible."
I'm sure you will agree this is a worthy cause so any donation you could afford would be most appreciated. Whether you donate per mile/stage accomplished (in case I break my leg and don't finish the whole thing) or have faith in my bones please donate, donate away!
My planned departure is at the end of April sometime - not quite sure when yet, I'll put it up when I know.
