Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.

Having already organised a charity rugby day and auction in order to raise money for the "Royal Marsden Cancer Charity" last year (the Bristol team emerging victorious with only a neglgible suspician of cheating). I wanted to further continue my support for cancer research on a more personal level.

Despite the overwhelming general awareness of the disease, cancer continues to be the cause of 1 in 4 deaths in the UK and my foremost inspiration to participate in this years London marathon came from the recent loss of a family member and school friend early last year.  It is with them in mind that I hope to overcome my abhorrence of running and raise £2000 for cancer research in the process.

Each year, the University Cancer Research Fund (CRF) for which I'm running seeks out and funds the most innovative ideas. By financing the most imaginative and promising early stage research they have seeded the growth of important breakthroughs; helping them to do more, faster, in the search for new cancer treatments. I would be very grateful if you would make a donation. No matter how big or how small, it will all contribute to a worthy cause.  I'm sure for some of you the thought of the significant amount of pain I will have to endure will be motivation enough!!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
