Vineros Triathlon · 7 June 2020

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 12th July 2020 I will be taking part in my first triathlon and raising as much money as I can for Crohns and Colitis UK charity.

Triatlo de Vineros, Spain

1500m open water swim
40km cycle
10km run

I'm raising money for Crohns and Colitis UK to help support the amazing work they do for all affected but mainly because they have helped my mate Jack Turley. Jack is a physics teacher, tennis player and talented writer. He has written novels and short stories, a number of which recount the hardships faced by Ulcerative Colitis. With the moral stamina and intellectual pose of a twenty-first century Titan, this unyielding, sharp-witted Durham graduate has set out to remember the Ulcerative Colitis battle, think it through, and then render it comprensible with humour and class. It takes guts to talk about Crohns and Colitis.

Whether you have been affected by this, know someone who has, or you just fancy a laugh check out his website.

The money raised from my JustGiving page will go towards the drive to increase knowledge of the causes and best treatments of Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis. It will also finance projects looking at the life impact of Crohns and Colitis, and the provision of health services for these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The aim is to improve lives right now and, ultimately, to find a cure. The studies funded help professional develop better treatments and support people with these conditions.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Please donate a quid, 5 or 10, whatever you can afford. For updates on my training and progress follow my Instagram at tritraining2020 or Twitter thomashenryG
