Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 2nd July 2017 I'll be taking part in the Great Newham Run in East London, which will take me around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Village and this run finishes with a lap of the Olympic Stadium.
I've decided to raise money for GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital) charity and it has a special place in my heart and helped me out a lot when I was younger, and I feel it's finally time to give something back.
When I was 6 years old I began to have regular issues with my knees, which would cause me pain and swelling every time I'd do any type of exercise. After several trips to the hospital, I was eventually diagnosed with a rare form of Arthritis (Juvenile idiopathic arthritis) which affects people at a young age.
Over the next few years that followed I had to undergo a number of operations to drain my joints (knees and ankle especially) of fluid inflammation, and this illness affected a large percentage of my body, including causing me to still be colour blind.
At the worst stage there was a real possibility that I would end up wheelchair bound for the rest of my life, but the help and support I received from the nurses and doctors at GOSH really helped me get through the bad times, and I'm very grateful for everything they did for me.
At the age of 14 I was given the good news that I was in remission (the illness wasn't directly affecting me anymore) and luckily I've been in this remission period since then.
If you'd like to know more about the amazing things that they do at GOSH every day please just click here (https://www.youtube.com/user/GOSHCharity) - I'm aiming to raise a minimum of £250 for the charity so anything you can spare would be very much appreciated.
