Icknield Way Trail Cycle · 22 September 2018
Inspired by a visit from the wonderful Scarlett last term, Mr Chopra, Mr Yirrell and I are riding the grueling (!) 96 mile off road route along the ancient route of the Icknield Way trail. Unfit and with a track record of multiple punctures, we will ride from the start of the trail all the way to Icknield High School on the 22nd and 23rd September. We will be riding the trail to support the charity SHINE.
Scarlett was born 7th December 2015 and diagnosed with spina bifida myelomeningocele. In the first year of her life Scarlett spent over 200 days either in hospital or at appointments. Mrs Beckett says 'she is the most wonderful little girl, she never cries, she has an amazing sense of humour and is the bravest little one I know!!' Scarlett will be meeting us on the route and cheering at the finish line!
At Icknield High School, the Yellow tie year group have raised a significant amount of money for SHINE so far. Please help to build on this and raise some money for this worthwhile charity.
Shine provides specialist support from before and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff. Shine enables people to get the best out of life.Everything we do is made possible by our generous supporters. Your fundraising efforts help individuals and families in your local communities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Every donation has the potential for profound impact.
Please make a donation however small to help us reach our target and make a real difference for children like Scarlett.
THANK YOU for supporting us and Shine!
