The Sussex Beacon provides specialist care and support for people living with HIV in Sussex. Whether recovering from surgery in our inpatient unit, seeking advice about new medication or accessing mental health and support services we care for everyone living with HIV.

Story

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February I ran my first ever half marathon - training with a wonderful group of friends, raising money to support the amazing work of the Sussex Beacon. It is such an excellent service to the city, and beyond, that I managed to get a ticket for the Brighton Full Marathon. That's doubling the distance with 5 weeks training - it's a real challenge for me, but I think the Beacon are brilliant, and want to extend my Just Giving page to raise any more that I can. Read a little about them below -

The Sussex Beacon care centre opened its doors in 1992, a charity which offers specialist care and support for men, women and families living with HIV. Open 365 days a year, they help people manage the everyday realities of living with this life-long condition that has no cure. Our inpatient and outpatient services help people living with HIV related illnesses, initiating new drug therapies or struggling with extreme side effects of HIV medication. The Sussex Beacon supports the whole person by addressing the physical, mental and social impact of HIV.

So please consider sparing a coffee out this month, or indeed a more generous contribution to support their service to our city.

Thanks again, and best wishes. Updates on training progress to follow..
