Story

Good day all,

I have been training for the London marathon since early January. 70 odd runs later I’m about fighting fit to tackle it. Whilst I was fortunate to get in through the ballot, in these last few weeks when the miles have been ramping up and the effort has really been put in, I’ve decided to try to create a small movement to raise some money for a local family centre who support children aged five and under with a range of groups and one to one advice which offers an essential lifeline to families encompassing every aspect of their early years journey. They support to young families, especially those who are struggling or vulnerable, and together build a brighter future for the next generation of our community.

Unfortunately, Red Kite Family Centre is facing a critical funding shortfall. The Centre will be forced to close at the end of July 2023 unless they receive immediate additional funding. Any donation would be most welcome, particularly during a time of squeeze for most people. However, those who may need help most would likely benefit from your kind contribution.

I’ll post my running number as I’m sure many thousands of people will be keen to watch me chase down the elite group at the front, particularly Kenenisa Bekele who holds the second fastest marathon time ever (2:01:41).

Cheers!!!

Tom
