This year I am doing the Great North Swim, and this year they have introduced a 2 mile race on the Friday night (5:00pm, 17th June 2011).  When the marketing email arrived I couldn't resist entering.  Eight months later, after a broken ankle, some pretty dodgy sinuses and not a lot of training, I am a bit less ebullient!

 

Still hoping to manage it ... but maybe not in the time once targeted.  The 'fish him out of the water' deadline is 1hr 45m and with a bit of luck I may still do 1hr 20m.  Of course, it's all for an excellent cause!

These aren't easy times and I have no real expectations - but if you can help at all, please do support the Rescue Boat.  You never know, one day you might need it!
