Story

If you're reading this: thank you! I'm thrilled to have run my first marathon for a charity that supports some of the country's most vulnerable women and their families. Any amount you can give, however small, will help change lives.

Housing for Women provides secure, affordable accommodation to women and their families. It offers housing and support to those who have suffered domestic abuse, been trafficked,  or released from prison; it helps those in most need overcome trauma and turn their lives around. Everything you give will be spent directly on helping them.

£50 enables Housing for Women to provide a welcome pack for a family at its domestic violence refuges, ensuring they have the essentials they need while being supported.

£100 means they can provide work skills training sessions for women who have been trafficked to the UK for exploitation, giving them the skills to access work and resettle into the community.

£1,000 will fund a programme of therapeutic sessions at a domestic violence refuge which will support 40 children over a year. These sessions including dance, arts & craft, allowing children to express their feelings and help to overcome the trauma they have faced.
