Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

Hi team!

I'm running the London Marathon in 2023 and I need your help.

My dad died of a brain tumour and it was really, really awful. When I think of Tata (Bolek, dziadzio, or as some of you knew him, Moss), it's his love of everything that comes to mind: painting, jazz, whisky, travel, books, astronomy, Poland, classical music... he taught us how to be interested in things. It's a good way to live.

In memory of him, I'm putting my skinny, little legs to use: I'm running the London Marathon next year for Brain Tumour Research. I've committed to raising £7500.

Running comes very naturally to me. I have these internal batteries that keep me going and going. Running makes me extremely emotional (when I was told I had a place on the team, I went on a run and cried six times). I will be so teary on the day I'm actually concerned about losing hydration. Basically, if you come and support me I will sob when I see you - sorry-not-sorry.

As some of you will know, I take on tasks with an often worrying intensity – this will be no different. So please consider supporting me! I don't want to see anymore brain tumours x
