The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. Last year we assisted more than 70,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2025 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

This is going to be an arduous overnight ultra marathon challenge.  Running from my home in Hemel Hempstead to my place of work at the Finlay Gym at RAF Halton.

Both legs of the journey will be 16 miles with a well deserved high calorie break at the half way mark! ;-)

During lockdown I feel this is an ideal opportunity to do something worthwhile for charity, particularly because large scale organised charity events have been postponed.

The RAF benevolent fund do some fantastic work:

They provide a range of support aimed at serving (and former)
RAF personnel and their dependants. This includes welfare breaks, grants to help with financial difficulty and getting about inside and outside the home, specialist advice on benefits and support with care needs, as well as support for young people through the Airplay programme.

Any donation, big or small will make such a difference.
