In November my life changed quite considerably. Fred was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia ( ALL B-Cell). Everything I understood to be normal at that point changed. He has spent two and a half months being excellently cared for by the wonderful team at St George’s as a Marsden patient. Life in hospital is no fun. Tubes, blood and platelet transfusions, PICC lines and hair loss, to mention but a few. Fred’s health has been on a rollercoaster ride but with the help of chemotherapy we hope that he will start to win his fight against ALL. We face a three year battle to gain full remission, which as you can imagine will add up to a considerable amount of time spent going in and out of hospital. The darkest times in the last two months have been made tolerable by the kindness of charities who reach out with something fun for Fred to do or a food voucher to help with the ever growing costs of hospital. Their generosity has helped me to understand first-hand how life changing this can be for families. For that reason I am asking you all to help me give a little something back. Any donation, however small would be so gratefully received. To those of you that have already and are considering a donation to this cause, Fred and I can’t thank you enough!
