Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you are aware Ethan was born 14 years ago after a very traumatic and complicated birth, at the age 6 months the doctors said there were signs of brain damage and that he would need a MRI scan at 2 years when his brain was fully developed, they gave me a possible diagnosis of cerebal palsy and i started to do my homework, scope was the charity that helped us a lot i would speak to them most days on the phone, and to be quite honest i knew from what they were saying he had cerebal palsy. There are many extremities with cerebal palsy from someone not being able to move there thumb right through to someone not being able to move and communicate at all. Ethan has got it effecting all four limbs and suffers from learning disabilities but still being able to mobilise and goodness do we know about it when hes having a off day. Ethan as also very occasionally just started sleeping through the night, which is a breakthrough.

Ethan and Erin are very proud of me running the great north run for this charity. (even though they said, they want me to run it for whizz kidz next time, but kids who said there was going to be a next time) as you all know i must be passionate about this great event and this great charity because ive made many life changing decisions to be able to run this, my kids think im going to come first (so move over paula radcliffe or you might have to give me a piggy back round) Thanks to to my wonderful family who think im absolutley crazy and thought i would never give up the fags and run this, well guess what guys "I AM RUNNING THE GREAT NORTH RUN XX"

Thank you to my work colleagues because up to press you have all been fantastic with your support and you have all made fantastic smoking cessation nurses, also a big thank you to scope for all there invaluable emotional advice.

Steve, the kids, my mum, dad, brothers and sisters and the scope team will be supporting me and cheering me on at the great north run, see you on the 18th of september guys and remember i will need a stiff drink at that finish line and a greggs cream cake :) XXX
