Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mum died as a result of Parkinson's disease in 2013. She was a lovely lady with a big heart and an infectious chuckle. Towards the end she would even laugh merrily, heart-wrenchingly, at the way her jumbled words came out.

In 2018 I met, near The Lizard in Cornwall, a chap with Parkinson's who was trying, against the odds, to walk the South West Coast Path while he still could. He and mum together have inspired me to raise money for an organisation, Parkinsons UK, that provides support for sufferers and also seeks a cure.

I'll be walking over 1,279 miles from one end of the country to the other between May and August 2019, during my first year of retirement. I'd be ecstatic if you could give a penny per mile (£12.79) but, if you're skint, please just give 2p for every day I'll be walking - namely £1.50 (2 X 75). I need either 100 people to give 1p per mile or 853 people to give 2p per day!
