The Ian Pratt MND Challenge (Swimming the Solent) · 17 July 2017

Motor Neurone Disease is a terminal illness for which there is no known cause, treatment or cure. It can affect anyone at any age.

Story

In 2013 I swam the Solent for the first time with 3 friends and raised funds for people living with Motor Neurone Disease.

At that swim I met Ian Pratt who is living with MND.  Ian, along with his wife Catherine and daughter Georgiana, have become great friends.

We named the swim after Ian for the 2014 crossing, and made it an annual event.

The Ian Pratt Foundation is Ian's charity and the aim of the charity has 3 aims.

Support people living with MND and their families, raise awareness and support the research work of Professor Pam Shaw at SITran in Sheffield.

All funds raised will go towards these three aims.
