Tony’s Couch to Half Marathon Challenge !

In 2016 both my Grandad and Aunt were victims to a stroke, I have seen first hand how debilitating this illness can be not only to the sufferers but also to the families around them. The road to recovery is long and difficult and very often recovery is impossible. I have seen the joy that relearning to walk alone, or remembering loved ones names can bring. The journey is extremely difficult and if they can have the courage to work hard every day against all the odds then I can certainly get off the sofa and run a few miles!

My challenge concludes 13th October at the Great Birmingham Half Marathon but begins today, with the couch to 5k and 10k challenges and a few park runs thrown in!

I am in no way fit and definitely not an experienced runner, so please donate, to help support stroke survivors or even just to see me struggle through the next 7 months of training!!
