Story
Thanks for your support with my YOUR IRONMAN TRIATHLON page for Cornwall Hospice Care. As you know I’m not exactly world famous for my fitness. I hate running so I’m walking all 26 miles. I haven’t ridden 100 miles on a bike since 1989. I haven’t swum 2 miles ever. When I was doing my Bronze award in Polkyth in 1986 I got out with 4 laps to go of a mile because I was bored (100% true). But during lockdown I started walking a bit, thanks to Melissa, and discovered things I hadn’t seen for at least twenty years. These included a breastbone, ribs, and sides. These things appear on most normal humans but are as rare around me as a salad. So now I’ve started this seems like the ideal opportunity to continue. And its for the hospice. So its the perfect reason as its my favourite charity.
When life isn’t fair they make sure the last few days, weeks or months on earth are as comfortable as they can be for both the patient and their families and friends. I’ve lost count of the amount of people I know they have looked after but Shaun Moriarty was one of them and the difference they made was immense so anything I can do to help raise funds for them has to be a good thing. I know a lot of the Hospice Team as well and they are all wonderful people who deserve all the help and praise they can get.
I’m going to video blog it, facebook it, and annoy the crap out of everyone with this Ironman and I hope you can get your credit card out and give me what you can so my efforts are worth it!
Thanks for reading this and see you soon
