We have an incredible group of #WishHeroes who will be taking on the 2022 Great North Run. Together, we have the power to light up the darkness for critically ill children.

Story

Connie was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a form of bone cancer, when she was 14. All the way through 4 years of treatment Connie was determined to live her life the best way she could whatever was going on for her and happing to her at the time. That positive ethos underpins the amazing work that Make a Wish do to provide memorable experiences for seriously I’ll children. They provided Connie and our family with an incredible trip to Paris just before her 18th Birthday. We have really precious memories from that trip and would like to give something back to Make a Wish so that other children and their families can have similar experiences.

David, Connie’s childhood friend, Ian (David’s dad) and I have been running the Great North Run since Connie died in 2015 to raise money for Make a Wish. This year Connie’s brother and my son Harvey will join us for the first time. Connie’s and Harvey’s mum and David’s mum will as ever be there supporting us every step of the way.

Please give whatever you feel able to give and follow our story here as we add regular updates!! 😊
