Tony (Anthony) Jemmott - Televisions for GRH Respiratory Ward

Tony Jemmott (Dad) passed away peacefully at Gloucester Royal Hospital in the Respiratory Ward on the 21st July 2023 surrounded by his family which is just the way he would have wanted it. A mere hour before he was partaking in a feast of white chocolate buttons and a nip (or two) of single malt whiskey - a moment that sums up Dad perfectly.
Dad made a connection with everyone he met. Since his passing we have heard many tales involving his cheeky playfulness, his ability to lighten any mood and his very impressive repotoire of accents. But Dad wasn't just a joker, he loved to help others and make a difference; his words of wisdom, ability to keep any secret and way of appreciating the moment was a real talent.
During Dad's stay in ward 8B at GRH everyone involved in his care was phenomenal. They gave us confidence that when we left Dad in an evening, he would well looked after. One thing missing on the ward however was entertainment, there were no Televisions to provide background noise, mental stimulation or a welcome distraction from what can be a scary time.
In addition to their daily workload, the team on that ward are fundraising to purchase new Televisions to help out all those who visit. We know that Dad would be overjoyed to know that in his memory we are going to ensure they meet their target - With your help, Dad will be able to make a massive difference. Thank you for your donation.
If you would like to join Dad's funeral to celebrate his wonderful life, it is being held at Cheltenham Crematorium on Friday 25th of August at 1pm. Dad wouldn't want us to be sad so please wear some colour and bring a smile.
Dad, we are all so proud of you, Love you forever xxx
