200 For 200 Walk · 13 April 2019 to 22 April 2019 ·

This theatre has been entertaining people for almost 200 years. It is rooted in the present as a major contributor to Suffolk's cultural landscape and a wonderful resource for the community. Help us ensure its future, the generosity of those who love the arts and heritage is vital. Thank you.

Story

A  frustrated rock star, mad scientist and passionate photographer, I've now adopted ‘polar bear’ mode, meaning I’m truly at my happiest when walking stupidly long distances.

Theatre royal is such a special organisation. It inspires so many people and brings genuine pleasure to many many more. At the centre of the community it is soon due to celebrate a glorious 200 year history.

Always looking for inventive and creative ways of raising funds in these times of austerity, I felt I just had to contribute in some small way to ensure that another 200 year history can start to be written.

I came up with idea of a long distance sponsored walk. There are several classic long distance walks in East Anglia to choose from, even better/crazier why not do all the classics in one go and do a walk over 200 miles long for 200 years!

So over nine days that’s exactly what we are going to do. Starting at Cambridge (Saturday 13 th April ) and finishing at the Theatre Royal (Monday 22nd April ) – legs willing!!
