Over 58,000 people will be diagnosed with prostate, testicular or penile cancer every year in the UK. Orchid exists to save lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through a range of support services, pioneering research and promoting awareness.

Story

Hi All, for quite a long time now I have been raising money for the Orchid Charity, since 2007 in fact. Orchid exists to carry out research into all male related cancers, actually they are the only charity to do so. They are based at St Bartholomew Hospital, if you would like more information please go to www.orchid-cancer.org.uk. As ever this came about due to a friend that was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer, you can imagine this was life changing for him as he was a young man just about to get married so it meant they would never be able to have children. What was also devastating was the effect on him, his confidence and his self-respect. To raise money, I have completed two London to Paris bike rides and numerous New Forest bike rides. We also have held two 500 MILE CHALLENGES “What is a 500 mile challenge” I hear you ask, well it is 5 people with their bike on a static trainer all at the same time riding 100 miles each.
