TONY's IRONMAN Bolton Event

On Sunday the 16th July 17, I attempt the arduous Ironman Bolton event, for those who don't really know what IM is, its a......2.4 mile swim in open water, followed immedatly by a 112 mile Bike ride, followed immediatly by a full 26.2 mile Marathon.
So I ask myself why?! I have run many Marathons in memory of Kaine May who was tragically taken from us as a result of a traffic accident, in 2017 Kaine would have turned 21 years of age. The May family have been very strong throughout, I have promised to keep Kaine's Memory alive forever.
I enjoy running and other Physical tests but the Ironman is the next level, training is hard with 5 days of a variety of disciplines exceeding over 20 hours per week.
In preparation for this event I have already completed some events and still have many scheduled:
Completed to date 2016/17
2016
4 x Half Marathons 1:34, London Serpentine 1 Mile Swim - 33, Bournemouth Full Marathon.- 3:38
2017
Thorpe Park Half Marathon - 1:34 , Dartford Half/Bike - 1:38, Reading Half/Bike - 1:37, Virgin London Marathon/Bike - 3:37, Swashbuckler Half Ironman distance complete 5:49, RE Sprint Triathlon, 80 mile cycle, 85 mile cycle and 100 mile cycle...final race was a Standard distance triathlon on Wed 28 June, its now time to taper....
Scheduled:
IRONMAN Bolton - 16 July.
As you will appreciate the training let alone the list above will be tough, but the minute my body falls into the category of feeling pain, I look up and Kaine is with me all the way.
The Charity I am raising money for is BRAKE a charity close to the May families heart which helps raise awareness to children and the safety of roads.
Anything you can spare is much appreciated,
Kaine we did it.....12hrs 41mins 27secs by far the hardest thing I have done but so overwhelmed with all the support and sponsors you are all so kind x
