Shake It Up Australia has a clear mission: To find the cure for Parkinson’s. Our partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation funds world’s best research in Australia, targeted at finding better treatments and ultimately a cure. 100% OF YOUR DONATION GOES DIRECTLY TO RESEARCH.

Story

We want to use this opportunity to create awareness of the Parkinson disease, more than 10 million people world wide are affected.  Some of the group have personal connections with Parkinson's, as family members affected with the disease.  All money raised goes directly to the charity that funds research to find a cure.  This charity is directly associated with the Michael J Fox foundation.

Our challenge - The Everest Base Camp is the ultimate bucket list, the trek as it climbs through the Khumbu Valley, follows the footsteps of the Everest summiteers. During this two week adventure, we will experience unbeatable views, and a unique cultural experience as we pass through villages and Buddhist monasteries.

The trip begins and ends in colourful Kathmandu, an exciting flight to Lukla then ascend to the vast glaciers of the Everest Himalayas. We will get to see first hand the amazing Khumbu Ice Fall and summit Kala Patar, which stands over 18,000 ft (5,554 m) and from there have an unobstructed view of Everest.
