Story
Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?
I’m taking on the 56 Miles in February challenge for PCR to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.
Why? Because it was 18th January 2025 when my blood was taken for a PSA test, courtesy of the Prostate Cancer Support Group and the next day I received a red PDA result of 16 ng/ml. In the year since then I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and received radiotherapy at Clatterbridge.
The “56 Miles in February” challenge gives me an opportunity to raise awareness and money to ensure that more men get screened, and cancers are caught early.
I intend to complete the challenge within the 28 days of February and hope to clock up the miles both on foot and on two wheels.
Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.
Plus, please sign the Prostate Cancer Research petition to overturn the NHS decision not to routinely screen men for prostate cancer. The link is below.
