Penumbra Grand Canyon Challenge · 6 July 2006

We are Penumbra Mental Health. Our vision is that people in Scotland live with positive mental wellbeing and can easily access quality support when they need it. Our services include care homes, supported living, self-harm, substance misuse, outreach, social inclusion and distress services.

Story

In October this year I will be undertaking one of the greatest challenges of my life trekking in the Grand canyon to raise money for Penumbra Limited.  I will be part of a group of nine from Scotland who hope to raise in excess of £20,000 for this very worthwhile cause.

Penumbra is now in it's 21st year and is one of Scotland's leading mental health charities providing community based support for adults and young people experiencing mental health problems.  For more information about Penumbra, visit www.penumbra.org.uk .

So if you want to see this mild mannered couch potato turn into an intrepid "Indiana Jones" trekker please sponsor me now.  Your much needed cash will be gratefully received by Penumbra and used to help people with mental health problems to lead ordinary lives within the community.

Sponsoring online is simple, fast, totally secure and advantageous for the charity itself:  Penumbra will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no additional cost to you.

So dig deep and sponsor now. The money you give will make an enormous difference to Penumbra who rely entirely on voluntary contributions to fund the excellent work they do.

Thank you

Tony "Indiana" Mcloughlin
