Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

St Nicholas Hospice Care provides services, free of charge, to families that need help every single day.
In 2015, the hospice supported over 2,500 people in West Suffolk and Thetford at home, in the community and on their ward.

In April this year, they were given a rating of “Outstanding” following an unannounced inspection visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), an accolade that would not have been attainable without many supporters generosity.

It costs £6m to provide this level of care, and the local community was able to raise an incredible 79% of this.
Currently, they receive the remaining 21% of income from a local Clinical Commissioning Group, but due to funding cuts they have been told that they will lose almost £500,000 over the course of the next three years.

As the population of over-65s in West Suffolk and Thetford expands, they will also face increasing demand for their services, and will need to further extend their work.
St Nicholas Hospice Care want to make care available to everyone who is facing death in their local community, and they need continued support to achieve this.

Please help me reach my London Marathon fundraising target of £5,000 so that this wonderful organisation can continue to provide care in the future.
