Trek26 Cotswolds 2025 – 13 miles · 5 July 2025 ·

Explore the rural landscape of the Cotswolds as you trek through ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows and historic Cotswold stone villages. Trek for loved ones, and raise money so together we can provide help and hope to people affected by dementia.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be, and by funding ground-breaking research.

I have seen the effects of dementia amongst family and friends. It causes suffering for the individual, but also for their family and friends as they gradually lose the person they knew. I was surprised to see that it is the leading cause of death in the latest statistics for England and Wales. I look forward to the day when treatment will be available. Your sponsorship of the walk - a half marathon, but walked not run - that I'm doing will help to hasten that day. Thank you for your support.

Note: you may notice that it says that I am taking part in "Yorkshire Dales 13 miles Trek26". This isn't true. It should say "Cotswolds 13 miles Trek26", but it seems that I can't change it!
