Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of Antony (Tony) Romano, who very sadly passed away on 20th February 2021. Tony was best known for being a ‘gentle giant’ and was a talented rugby player, musician and artist, as well as having many other talents and quirks. Tony was loved by many and he leaves behind many family and friends including his wife Alex, stepdaughter Tara, brother Paul, Mother June and Father David. In the latter stage of Tony's life he was diagnosed with primary progressive Multiple Sclerosis, one of the most aggressive and fast paced forms of MS. Whilst the MS itself was not directly what killed Tony, the ongoing effects determined whether he would fight off other illnesses such as pneumonia. More research needs to be done to find out the exact causes and to establish treatments for primary progressive MS, so that other people do not have to suffer the effects of this cruel illness.
