Story
100 Miles in Memory of My Mam 💙
In 2009, I lost my mam to ovarian cancer.
There are some losses that time never really makes smaller. Life carries on, the years pass, but you never stop missing the person who should still be here. There will always be moments when I wish I could hear her voice, tell her something, ask her advice or simply have one more ordinary day with her.
So I’m taking on 100 miles for Ovarian Cancer Action, and every single one of those miles will be walked in memory of my mam.
I can’t change what happened to her. I can’t go back and give us the years we should have had together. But I can do something in her name.
Ovarian cancer has taken far too many women and devastated far too many families. By raising money for Ovarian Cancer Action, I hope to play even the smallest part in helping fund vital research and create a future where more women survive this disease.
There will undoubtedly be days when my legs hurt, when the weather is awful and when 100 miles feels like a very long way!
But whenever it gets difficult, I’ll remember why I’m doing it.
For my mam.
For every woman who has faced ovarian cancer.
For every family who has had to say goodbye far too soon.
And for the hope that one day, fewer families will have to.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small the amount, I would be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing my page would mean just as much.
Every donation, every share and every mile matters.
100 miles. One very special reason.
This one is for you, Mam. 💙
