From a group of 8 we will be splitting into teams and taking part in Europe's Toughest Mudder 2021. Which will take place on the 14th and 15th of August at the Belvoir castle, Grantham, Lincolnshire.

As there will be another number of teams running for the charity, we will be trying to raise over £3000 for the charity. We all have personal goals in terms of mileage while running for the event but we will all be putting in 100% and pushing ourselves to the limit during the event. 

The event is A 12 HOUR EVENT, this will be nothing short of 12 hours of hell as my team mates and I run through the night from 20:00 to 08:00 while trying to complete as many laps of the 5 mile long course, filled with challenging obstacles throughout the 12 hour time period. It will a massive test of my physical and mental strength and It will be 12 hours of extreme team work, stamina and mental grit. This is the first event of this type a lot of the group have ever completed so it will be a new and exciting test for us all. 

We are training out of total fitness gym in Aintree. Money can be donated from inside the gym if this is easier for people and we will be training Wednesday and Friday evenings. The gym have supported us in the training and allowed us to train free of charge on top of donations. 

We are doing this to help raise money for Claire's house children's hospice.

For anyone who doesn't know what Claire's house children's hospice do, they helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. By providing specialist nursing care and emotional support they help families smile again when life couldn’t get any TOUGHER. 

Claire House has a team of trained professionals who are as passionate about what they do as they are talented at doing it. Our staff includes nurses, physiotherapists, play specialists, counselors and we also have four dedicated doctors who visit the hospice.

The money we are trying to raise will go a massive way in helping them to give seriously and terminally ill children a chance to have positive and happy experiences. I am extremely fortunate to not have to witness anyone who has come in need of the help of the charity, but with everyone in the team having children/grand children we can only imagine the horrors and problems that families experience in such a traumatic time of there loved ones being ill or knowing they may never recover from a illness. 

We will be posting updates in the build up of the event, regarding my training and fund raising that we will be doing along with the rest of the teams taking part for Claire's house.
