Addingham Amble - memory walks in aid of Alzheimers Society · 15 September 2019

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Totally Locally Addingham in partnership with Addingham Parish Council and Addingham Civic Society / Environmental Group are proud to host our third series of sponsored memory walks around the village in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

The three walks consist of a short walk (ideal for adults walking with smaller children - approx 1 mile), medium walk (approx 3 miles) and a long walk to Beamsley Beacon and back again. All three walks start at the Memorial Hall on Main Street. The starts will be staggered, starting with the long walk at 12pm, medium walk at 1pm, and the short walk at 2pm. The Environmental Group have also kindly arranged a Treasure Hunt to entertain you on the medium walk around Addingham.

A fantastic prize for largest amount of sponsor money raised is to be offered - get those sponsor sheets filled in!

BBQ & refreshments will be available from the Addingham Scouts Tent in the car park of The Memorial Hall throughout the day.

Water will be available on all routes on the day and marshals will be present on all walks, along with first aides. Road crossing points and the route directions will be clearly sign posted. Additional information will be available on the day. Please ensure you turn up with plenty of time to collect your t-shirt and prepare for the start.

Tickets are £5 per adult and free for children (must be walking with a responsible adult). Official Alzheimer's Society t-shirts are also available to purchase with the ticket and cost an additional £5 (with all money going to the Alzheimer's Society).

Tickets available via Jan Garth at the Precision Plastic Ball Company on Main Street or via the above See Tickets link
