Story

My current employer, The Kings School, have decided to represent Parkinson's Care & Support as our charity this year. Donations are going to The University of Kent to raise funds for a new Parkinson's Centre for Integrated Therapy, offering individualized care for those affected with Parkinson's. I wanted to take a big step in supporting this as one of my colleagues in the office suffers from Parkinson's and the newly built centre will support him greatly. On top of this The Kings School Canterbury will be hosting other charitable events throughout the year, you can learn more about the new Parkinson's Centre at https://www.kent.ac.uk/parkinsons.

This year I want to give back more than I receive. By completing Tough Mudder's and raising money for charity I can make a positive start to this goal while carrying on the spirit for the years to come.

Click on this link to view a list of all events I am taking part in; https://docs.google.com/document/d/18Jj8YrpeCXvEbiUPg46swd_pxUBDa2-RbDH2jZuz81w/edit?usp=sharing

It would be wonderful for you to join me, but don't wait too long as spots fill up fast! Please contact me at sw@kings-school.co.uk if you would like to participate in any of the events.

My goal is to raise £2000.00 by completing all 11 Tough Mudder's by the end of October. If we can raise up to £4000.00 I will shave off all my head and facial hair as well!

Thank you all for any donations and for sharing this page with friends and family.

Every hour two people are told they have Parkinson's. It can affect anyone and there is currently no cure. As there is no cure for Parkinson’s, we aim to ensure that people live well for as long as possible with the condition, whilst funding non-pharmaceutical research to help prevent, slow down progression and reverse Parkinson’s. We provide FREE exercise, respite care, neurological physiotherapy, information, advice, support groups and are developing a CBT Helpline to help people with Parkinson's with anxiety and depression.

Full disclosure, this challenge is self funded. I'm not being compensated by participating in and/or advertising the Tough Mudder brand.
