The Audley Foundation exists to make a lasting difference particularly to older people’s lives. The Foundation offers grants to various charities and we are committed to giving back to the community.

Story

In May, I will be cycling round 13 Audley retirement villages in aid of the Audley Foundation (https://audleyfoundation.org.uk/).

The Charity’s mission is to ‘make a lasting difference to the lives of older people’.

This year we have chosen to support Care Workers Charity (https://www.thecareworkerscharity.org.uk/) and install Chatty Benches in town centres around the UK to help combat loneliness.

The ride is 560 miles over 8 days, as well as, 14,000 ft of climbing ( which is nearly Everest base camp)

I am training hard but hope to be assisted by:

  • a reassuringly expensive bike
  • favourable weather (northerlies from Yorkshire to Somerset then westerlies to London and Kent, please)
  • Sudocrem (other nappy rash creams are available)
  • Jelly Babies (no compromise)

…and, of course, some generous sponsorship to keep me cycling
up steep hills and into driving rain.

I am aiming to raise £10 per mile (£5,600).

All monies will go directly to the Audley Foundation for donating because we are kindly sponsored by Audley Group and Eversheds Sutherland.

Please give generously.  Thank you

John
