Across the world, 258 million children are currently out of education. Can you help us pull a 180 on this education crisis? Join the 180 Challenge and help us turn children's lives around through education.

Story

Education helps children live Happily Ever Smarter; it breaks the cycle of poverty, empowers entire communities and gives children the opportunity to create their own brighter and more secure futures. However, for children, like Amir, who lives the foothills of the Himalayas, Nepal, the opportunity to get the education he needs to escape the poverty cycle feels like an impossible fairy tale. At just 6 years old, Amirs only chance to go to school means walking 180 minutes everyday to and from school. In reality, Amir cannot often go. He is one of the 11.3 million children in South Asia who is out of education.I am joining the 180 Challenge to help turn children's lives around through education.

As a member of a small group of maturing cyclists (and runners) aptly named "The Tour de Farce" - we have decided to join the 180 Challenge and have set ourselves the challenge to each ride (or run) 180km in July. We are of varying ability and fitness and so achieving 180km in July is quite a goal!...I ride regularly, but have never tackled such a distance, so I am going to take inspiration from Amir and try to complete the challenge in 1 day! 😬

It has never been more crucial for children everywhere to access a good education. For every £1 you give to UWS before the 29th July 2021, the UK government will match your donation by giving another £1, enabling more children to live Happily Ever Smarter.
