Story
I’ve decided to undertake a cycling challenge to raise money
for the LNC.
The Lavinia Norfolk Centre (LNC) is a specialist unit that supports
students with special educational needs in a mainstream school. The students are incredible and the staff are amazing too. It’s an incredible place that, as you can imagine, relies on donations to continue their amazing work.
What are you sponsoring me to do I hear you say? I am going to cycle the equivalent of the first stage of the Tour de France, but in Florence. All 203.5km of it. Aka 126.4 miles. However, instead of cruising on the French rolling hills, I’ll be greeted with cobbled streets, Italian drivers who have absolutely no regard for any sort of road safety and winding hills full of overweight men in vests shouting at their neighbours. I’ve found a rusty old bike (pretty sure it’s prehistoric) but don’t panic, it’s got a wicker basket on the front so I’m sorted.
After a little testing, I’ve estimated that I’ll be perched
on the saddle for just over 15 hours straight.
Finally, I have not trained for this. So I am counting on the kindness of you beautiful people and your donations to spur me on. Thank you for taking an interest and if you can a donate it would be amazing, and very gratefully received.
