In 2021, one of the Autodata team had their lives turned upside down by Cancer. Paul's daughter, Lily had a bleed to the brain which turned out to be a tumour.

The charity Young Lives vs Cancer were a massive support to Paul and his family and we would like to find a way to thank them. On 29th July a team of 9 from Autodata, including Lily's dad Paul are taking on the challenge of walking 35km along the tow paths of the Grand union canal with the initial aim of raising £1,500 for the charity. Now we've passed that milestone, we are aiming for £3,500.

Here's a bit more about Lily and Pauls' story
:

After having the tumour removed, Lily began having chemotherapy, followed by 6 and a half weeks of radiotherapy and a further 4 weeks of chemotherapy spread across the year which made her feel extremely unwell.

During this time, support workers from Young Lives vs Cancer, Claire and Marc were always around to see how she was getting on. When having radiotherapy, Claire was there almost every single day helping with the challenges it brought to Lily.

During Lily's hospital stays, Claire always made sure there were plenty of activities to take her mind off everything and always managed to put a smile on her face.

Marc was another huge help, providing financial support for travel to and from the hospital and by offering food vouchers when staying in hospital which made a significant difference to Lily's parents. If it wasn’t for the support received from the team at Young Lives vs Cancer, Lily’s time in hospital would have been significantly harder.

Lily and her family would like to thank the charity for all the help and support they have given and made a horrible time so much easier.

Please support this brilliant cause by sponsoring us on this challenge. The money we raise will ensure they can continue to offer support to families affected by Cancer.
