Toyah's Tandem Skydive for Friedreich's Ataxia · 29 May 2008

10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

Hi everyone its Toyah and I am about to do something totally ridiculous.... Hey whets new you may ask. But this time its different, I am actually hoping to raise money through my ridiculousness.

As any other child I often had cuts and bruises from falling over but by the age of 10 my clumsiness had got worse. It took until I was 13 years old before I was finally diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia, a progressive neurological disorder with no cure that slowly destroys the nervous system.

Now I am 27 I plan to jump out a plane to raise funds to research this condition further to help people like myself in the future cause. On Sunday the 13th of July I will be doing a tandem skydive. I feel it’s a fantastic cause so please help me by being as generous as you can.

Donating through just giving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ataxia UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Just giving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
