We're a close knit bunch in the TeleperformanceUK Recruitment Team. We might be miles apart in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland but we are always looking out for one another, and we also love a challenge!
So what's the challenge?
Between us we're going to walk 500 miles in July! That works out at about 20 miles each. Some of us happily throw on our trainers and go for a walk or run and some of us are quite happy sitting on the settee watching TV so we're going to be cheering each other on throughout the month!
To sustain long-term peer-reviewed research at their UK Centres of Excellence, Brain Tumour Research strive to help each of their Research Centres to raise £1 million a year.
That’s £2,740 per day, per Centre, so together with the charity, and your sponsorship, that's what we would love to raise.
Why Brain Tumour Research?
Two of our teammates - Bethan and Helen - care for people with brain cancer. Bethan's dad, Ian,was diagnosed with Gliobastoma Multiforme (GBM) in 2011 when he was 45 and Helen's husband, David, was diagnosed with anaplastic oligodendroglioma in 2017 when he was 37.
Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.
