1066 Walk in aid of St Michaels Hospice · 27 September 2015
What has Tracey let herself in for THIS year?
Those of you who know me know that I like walking in the countryside,
so this next challenge seems fitting. I have chosen the option of walking 16
miles along the historic 1066 walk in the beautiful Sussex countryside. I haven't walked
that sort of distance since raising funds for the British Heart Foundation
some 11+ years ago (remember that Alex?! Ouchy!!) Since then I have consumed
far too many bars of chocolate and bottles of the good stuff and the longest
walk I think I have managed of late is around 8 miles. So this could be a tad
challenging!
Training?
Er, doubt I will have time as I have a busy diary and the event is in 4 weeks!!
(27th Sept)
Why?
I hope to raise as much as I can to help the
Rotary and St Michaels Hospice. St Michaels Hospice have helped so many family members,
friends (and their families), so I want to be able to raise as much as I can to
give something back.
Support needed
If anyone would like to join me, please contact St
Michaels Hospice for the walk pack and registration details (£5 + optional £5
t-shirt)
If you would like to meet me at the end with a hug and carry me to the car, that would be much appreciated ;)
Why 16 miles?
There were three options
How much do I want to raise?
As much as possible really. I know that £40 will pay for one hour’s
nursing and help Rotary to provide equipment for a disabled child to
participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. £50 would pay for a patient to enjoy one hour in
Day Services and help Rotary to buy toys for autistic children.
If you have any spare pennies they would be much appreciated, especially as so many donation requests come to us these days.
No rain dances on the day please!
Thank you!
